This page contains information on how to fix the andLinux 'slow boot / disk space disappeared' bugs that some users have reported. The bug is described on the andLinux news page (May 1st, 2008), which refers to the fix at http://www.andlinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=864#864. To fix the bug, you need to add a key to the registry. In principle, all changes to the registry can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing.
The easiest way to add the required key to the registry is to download the file andlinuxmaybugfix.txt. Right click the link and choose 'Save link as' (Firefox), or 'Save target as' (Internet Explorer) to download the file. The file contains:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup] "andLinux"=hex(7):43,00,3a,00,5c,00,50,00,72,00,6f,00,67,00,72,00,61,00,6d,00,\ 20,00,46,00,69,00,6c,00,65,00,73,00,5c,00,61,00,6e,00,64,00,4c,00,69,00,6e,\ 00,75,00,78,00,5c,00,44,00,72,00,69,00,76,00,65,00,73,00,5c,00,2a,00,00,00,\ 00,00
You can check the contents of the file in an editor. Rename the extension of this file from .txt to .reg, and execute it. Note that this fix assumes that you have installed andLinux in the C:\Program Files\andLinux directory.
